Beloved Community Church

- Re: Beloved Community ChurchI think it's interesting that the church is taking a step to be all inclusive, including of the LGBTQ+ community because I've heard so many stories about people in the LGBTQ+ community who had to leave the church because it was the only place that did not accept them. Also, I think it's important that the church is already planning on how to incorporate togetherness in the gentrified community because gentrification really does harm minorities in some way.

Re: Beloved Community ChurchWhat do you find interesting? What questions do you have?I find it really interesting how churches in the past haven't been inclusive to the minority and LGBTQ+ Community. I grew up in a church were everyone was accepted, so i never realized how un-inclusive some churches were. I am glad that you will be able to help your organization change this as well as help with the redlining and gentrification problems.

Re: Beloved Community Churchdo you have any specific thoughts on how to keep gentrified areas from pushing out the low-income residents?Post by Kathryn Smith
Re: Beloved Community ChurchYour project is so interesting to me. The businesses moving into Avondale have gotten a lot of press and accolades, but there's another side to the development too, as you mention, and that presents ethical challenges for individuals and organizations like Beloved. I would love to read your research and recommendations!
