Reflection
Something I am learning about myself through this internship is how much I like concrete steps and to see the big picture before starting something. I think this is because I enjoy structure and am end-goal oriented, especially in large complex problems. I am good at organizational skills but am not good at pacing myself or preventing burn-out. I have surprised myself in how much I enjoy the one-on-one interaction with my supervisor as we have many things to talk about once we start. I have also learned that an in person environment is important but not necessary for me to form relationships with colleagues. I have discovered that the best use of my time will be creating a working document that has all of my ideas for the future development with as much explanation as I can put, so that in the future these ideas may be built upon and acted on.

- Re: ReflectionI think it's great that you are learning what you like throughout this internship and knowing that you need to see the whole project before you begin so that you can start it the best way possible!

Re: ReflectionI really love how you acknowledged that an in-person working environment is not the only way you can make connections with others. I find myself not wanting to reach out as much virtually because to me it’s intimidating to have time be so intentional and specifically scheduled if that makes sense. I find myself not wanting to waste others’ time and feel pressured to just get down to business during zoom calls. Your point is so important to remember because creating those connections is just as important as getting work done.Post by Kathryn Smith
Re: ReflectionFrom your first three sentences, I take it that this internship is not your preferred type of project? How will that insight influence your career choices? How are you coping with the fact that you are having to work outside of your comfort zone this month?
