Bully Video

Adults sometimes think that they have all the right answers because they are older and have more life experience. This is not always true. In this case, the adult should have stepped in more and listened to the child who was being bullied instead of just subduing the situation for the bully to come back to later. Adults can help the situation by actively listening to the children and confronting the problem head on instead of just slapping a bandaid on the situation.

I love the comparison of just slapping a band aid on the situation. Those were my thoughts as well when the teacher wanted them to shake hands an be "friends" again. It was clear the adult was as you said thinking she was right and had all of the answers. Using your analogy, band aids are meant to come off at some point. So with this in mind, what would you think would be the best way to completely snuff out this problem after the adult listens to student? I think the adult should be on high alert for when the bully tries again and catch him in the act to avoid the he said she said like the video presented. If not that specific adult, have someone on the lookout.
