2. People will turn out to vote if they believe their vote matters, they have strong opinions about the election or just because they believe voting is their civic duty. If you are a red voter in an overwhelmingly blue state you may feel like your vote does not matter and may not feel inclined to vote. Also if you feel strongly for a candidate or against an opposing candidate you will be more likely to go vote. This can be influenced by campaigns because you opinion could be swayed over the course of a politicians campaign and interaction with others. Campaigns also influence votes because the more a candidate puts there name out there like on signs and billboards the more likely they are to be voted in. If a voter does not know anything about two candidates, they are more likely to vote for the candidate whose name they recognize.
3. I think it would be beneficial for Trump to focus on the positive accomplishments of his presidency and also attack the negative aspects of Biden's presidency. I think the same goes for Biden, he should focus on his accomplishments and attack Trump's negatives. I also think that it would be beneficial to focus on the voters that are in the middle and focus on swing states because the people on either end of the political spectrum are secure votes and will vote for their respective party. There is a large number of Americans who are in the middle of the spectrum and the candidates should focus on using less extreme campaign claims to win the vote.

- Re: Discussion 6I really like in question one how you discuss the difference between local candidates and presidential candidates, because there is obviously a big difference between the two and how they represent and run their political campaigns. In question two I agree with you as well on how a voter is more likely to vote for a candidate whose name they recognize, in this case it you said it would be due to a billboard. In question three I agree with you on how it would be extremely beneficial for Trump to point out and focus on his positive accomplishments and then attack the negatives of Biden's presidency, and vice versa. I like how you discussed that there is a large number of Americans who are in the middle of the spectrum and that political candidates need to focus on less extreme campaigns in order to win their vote.

discussion replyI really like your number two talking about people who will vote if their vote matters. People should all feel like their votes matter because it is their civic duty but it is hard when you are living in a state with an overwhelming amount of people that believe the opposite of you. I think everyone when elections come around to get educated and really look at both sides so that they can vote on who's best. At the end of the day, every vote matters on a win or loss, and people should think about that a little more when elections come around. Campaigns' are a great way to get educated on the politicians running to see what they are bringing to the table and to see their opponents. Everyone should have a say in who is running this country and a vote and being educated is a simple way to get to be a part of making sure that our country is being run by someone who is going to his/hers best for the people.
