Discussion 6
1. In my experience with political campaigns, they do matter. Campaigns provide information on what the candidates stand for. This allows the public to get a sense of the best candidate to vote for. More specifically, campaigns are important for the primary elections at any level because it influences the voter’s choice on candidates running within their political party. Campaigns also have influence in elections by uncovering flaws in their opponents.
2. From personal experience, this past summer when I went to vote in the primaries at my local church, I was the only person under the age of 50 the entire time I was in the voting booth. It honestly made me a little upset, but I believe people are more likely to turn out to vote when they have passion for a candidate. Campaigns can definitely influence voters by honing in on what specific change citizens are passionate for.
3. I would advise Donald Trump to be more sensitive in public speeches to avoid offending others. Because inflation and rising gas prices are what’s driving Biden’s unpopularity right now, I would advise him to emphasize solutions on current problems to appease the public rather than obstacles in the future.

- discussion replyI agree with your number 3 with sensitivity. I think there needs to be more compassion in Donald Trump's campaigning comes into play. I think avoiding offending others and making your campaign to where it pleases most people are the right steps to a great campaign and a win overall.

Re: Discussion 6Jenna, I agree with all your answers. You highlighted something in your response to question 3 that I also find true. I think that Trump should have spoken in somewhat of a more censored way. Not that censored is the correct term to use but I think that he should have understood that some people have views that do not align with his and therefore he as president needed to respect those views. He did not need to false agree, just be more understanding.Post by Mary Campbell
Discussion ReplyI agree to your answer for question one and I think campaigns are very important for primary elections because most people do not pay a lot of attention to the candidates this early, so the candidate with the most advertising will likely win. I also agree with question 2 and it was the same way when I went to vote. I think that campaigns are good about finding a specific belief and making sure the people know that a candidate will support this belief. I think that campaigns are good at creating different pictures of the candidate depending on the audience. Although I do agree with your answer to question 3, I think that his arrogance and his problem starting nature is what got him so much attention because he sticks out to people. I think people like this about him because he doesn't sugar coat his opinion even if it means losing support.Post by Mary Brooks
Re: Discussion 6I agree with your answer to number 3. I think that sensitivity Is very important, and I would definitely advise any candidate running for reelection to address the issues that are driving their unpopularity.
