My students are often so focused on the grade they receive on assignments that they pay little attention to the descriptive feedback I give them. For lesson planning assignments, I’ve adopted the practice of giving feedback on the plan based on the grading rubric but WITHOUT a numeric grade. Students then have the opportunity to revise their plans based on the feedback, I’ve given and then I assign a grade.
