Make forum posts: 1
Due Date: Initial post and responses are due no later than March 1, 2020
Assignment: Write a prompt with full directions for a discussion forum for the first or second week of class. Be sure to include a deadline, word count if any, responses required, and whether students should have citations.
Respond to at least one of your peers. Submit your prompt as text entry and respond to a colleague's by answering one of the following questions:
- What type of feedback will students be able to receive based on this prompt?
- Is the grading criteria clear and easy to understand? If not, how can it be further clarified?
- How can student responses be incorporated into the class lecture or learning activities?
- How does or can the prompt allow for different types of interaction?
- How does or can the prompt require students to apply and reference the content presented in the course?
- How does or can the prompt encourage students to think and reflect on what and how they are learning and its significance?
Tip! All responses should be CRISP: Considerate, Reflective, Interactive, Succinct, and Pertinent.
Grading Rubric:
Original Posting (5 points)
- The deadline for the initial and reply post is clearly stated. (1 point)
- The prompt description provides learners with context (1.5 points)
- The prompt applies one of the 10 question types discussed in this module (1.5 points)
- The length of the post is at least 50 words. ( 1 point)
Replies to Others’ Postings (5 points)
- Learner responds to at least 1 colleague (1 point).
- Question is fully addressed and stimulates further discussion (1.5 points)
- Feedback mentions at least one point from this module's content (1.5 points)
- Reply length is at least 50 words (1 point)
