Exploring the Future

I love the direction that applied computer science is going in! In the past, it has appeared like a foreign, incomprehensible language designated only for the smartest and brightest. Now, it feels super accessible, especially with all of the intersections that computer science has come to with other industries. I really appreciate that applied computer science is opening up to the design side of programming/computing. The design side is definitely my favorite, as well as the reason why I initially got roped into this whole thing! I will be applying the concepts we've exploring in class in my freelance work! The best thing about this class is that you don't have to wait until you have an office job to put into practice the things we have learned. I now feel capable of professionally presenting any project proposed to me.

I think there will be countless opportunities with the growth of applied computer science. I believe every job field in the world will have some instance of computer science in the future whether it be medicine, business, or the military. I believe the concepts in this class will help me notice the difference between good/bad marketing. This class has opened my eyes on things such as color ways, text, and font.

Exploring the Future

What excites me about the future of applied CPS is the endless possibilities of the ways it can bring more aesthetics and color to the world. This class has taught me the importance of color and font. These can make or break a brand. When a consumer sees a strong logo it may immediately grab their attention. This has motivated me to look into what could be thought of as minor details and always keep in mind the intentionality that must go behind its creation.

What excites me the most about the future of Applied Computer Science is how fast it is growing. Computer Science is/can be used in almost every field. I believe I can apply color scheme with the concepts we have learned. When creating flyers/posters for an event, I can think about how different colors schemes can be used to catch someone's eye.

Things that excite me are all the development for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. I feel that you can take a lot of the usability design strategies so that things don't get too crowded and overwhelming. The possibilities are endless when it comes to VR and AR and I am excited to see how they continue to grow.

The Future

While a lot remains unknown regarding the future and the current climate of things, I think the field of Computer Science will flourish and continue to solidify itself in every industry.  I think this class has helped my design philosophy and will influence my judgements in both original designs, as well as judging other designs.

I am excited about the future of CS not only because technology is advancing every day but because the opportunities are seemingly endless. You can change anything and everything about a user experience without having to have advanced skills. It goes to show that just in this single class, we were able to redo logos, make our own and redesign already existing platforms. Even if one doesn't take a CS path for a job, they can use these skills in other areas of life like creating an own business, creating a logo for that business and even offering suggestions to others for their own user experiences.

I am excited about the future of computer science. Many jobs in the future will need computer expertise. Even though one may not to major in CS, a basic understanding of some CS I find could be very beneficial. When we want to change a layout of a website or a color, and the website maker we are using does not support those features we want to change, a knowledge of html and css to edit to your own liking can come in very handy.

I always look forward to my career in web design. This class has taught me a lot about design principles and other things to consider when developing a design.  I think the most memorable concept was learning the moods behind color schemes and knowing there is specified color scheme for specific locations. Like who knew there are bathroom colors??

Exploring the Future

I couldn't be more excited for the future of Applied Computer Science.  Just about everything is used through technology now and I think if people got a better understanding of computer science it would be very helpful. Every concept we've learned has helped to understand CS better and will help us later on in our careers.

I think color moods is something that I have for sure thought about more. I think since we looked over websites with different colors and discussed how they made us feel, it has helped me in my own work of things to keep in mind. I think that many CS and digital media/Technology jobs will be available in the future. I think that many things around this industry are only growing and will continue to grow with advancements in technology.
