You can use CommonSource, Dribbble, UnSplash. All of these are very user-friendly and give freedom to copyrights. It's simple and you can curate your profile to make it aesthetically pleasing, which will lead to more attractiveness. The more the user distributes then the more he or she will become known due to other tastes and styles that people like. Also, you can showcase your work if you have connections and simply just share with your friends so that they can help distribute your work. I plan on using my connections to showcase what I have done for website designing to get my name out there.
One of the best ways I have found in promoting my self and my work is sharing the projects I am proud of on the platforms I am already engaged with. This always leads to friends/family swiping up and sometimes people I've never met! It's a great way to connect with people about the work you have done as well as open up doors to do work for other people as they can see.
Additionally, by posting the projects I am proud of over a period of time, people can see progress and get invested.
Another thing that is very important is having a consistent, yet unique, professional image-- sticking with the same colors, fonts, images, until you decide to change something (on all platforms).
When promoting myself and my work, I focus on making my work the best it can be. I do this, I believe promotion and things after will happen by itself.
I think social media influencers have the best ideas of how to promotes oneself alongside your work. Using platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube plays a major role in whether or not an influencer is successful. It is important to remain persistent and consistent throughout your work. I also think that the promotion needs to be natural and relate to a person's personality. It is necessary to network and complete the necessary collaborations to get views from people outside of your typical fanbase. These are just a few tips and tricks I've picked up from YouTubers.
I think a way to promote yourself is to understand your best skills and accomplishments and use them to be effective. Another way to promote yourself and your work is to power up your social media.
When thinking of ways to promote myself and my work, I think of a portfolio website. This website would be able to present my work for clients to view, as well and show people what I am capable of. This ultimately would tell people about me and show off my portfolio!
I don't really like showcasing my work. I am more of a private person when it comes to social media or showcasing my work. With that said, I posted a website to a domain, and I am just seeing how many visits I get per day. I am just letting my work do the talking.
I think that there are so many ways that you can show off your work. Something that I am starting to think about is using social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. There is so much potential with those and the ability to broadcast it to a wide audience. I also have been interested in posting art on eBay. You can track the amount of exposure that the piece has gotten and that can lead to making pieces that are similar so you can dial in the style that you want to make.
I think the best way to promote yourself and your work is through social media. Using multiple platforms allows you to reach a ton of different audiences while also allowing you to create your personal brand.
I recently created my own personal website for my final in here and I have used that platform to share about me and my experiences. This is a great way to share info about me and my work because I can add these links to my bios on Instagram, FB and Twitter. I can also use my social media platforms as a way to promote myself. I started my clothing brand and posted it on Tik Tok. I currently have 24.1k followers and it got 13.3 views. This is a great way to promote your products.
I believe I am not too flashy of a guy. I don't have a website or promote myself through the use of social media. With that being said I believe a person should let their work do their talking for them. There are many social media influencers who promote their work, brands, and companies to their millions of followers. They use their platform to the highest degree.
Know your people; promote yourself to others and have them display your work as well as your own displaying of your work. It pretty rare for others to see what you have done with loads of other people flooding the plains. For Computer Science I would use websites such as gethub or linked in, my number one goal would be to meet with someone who has already reached where I want to be in order to get a better understanding of how I should approach it.
As a student I don't really display any of my work. I don't have my own website but I could use my social media accounts or make a separate social media account just for my work instead of posting it on my personal account. I could also use a website like linked in or maybe Github to display my code programs that I have created. As a student I don't even really think about the fact that It might be smart for me to display my work more than just turning the assignments in for the grade.
