Impact Essay
How much of an impact has technology made on the field in which you are majoring? Please write a two page paper (using the template provided) explaining how technology has impacted your field of study.
You will need to use a minimum of three academic references – please consider using the IEEE Spectrum or ACM Digital Library for your sources (accessible through the BSC Library). You can also go to https://spectrum.ieee.org/ and search there. You may use sources in addition to these, but a minimum of three must be academic (not wikipedia). You may include images in your paper (please be sure to cite the source), but make sure you only include a reasonable amount.

Format: Please use the paper template provided on Moodle. It is posted immediately before this assignment.
Paper sections: Abstract, Introduction, Major Technology Use, Impact, Discussion, Conclusion, References
Reference format: ACM or APA
The Introduction should include answers to the following questions:
- What is your field of study? Why have you chosen this field? You can focus on the field as a whole or a small section of the field (i.e., medicine vs. medical imaging).
The Major Technology Use section should name one or two major technologies used in the field and describe them.
Impact should include information about how the technologies you mentioned in the previous section have impacted the field.
Discussion and Conclusion can be combined into one section if necessary. Include your thoughts as to whether the impact was positive or negative. Do you think technology will continue to change the field?
If computer science is your chosen field, I recommend choosing an area within computer science and writing about how technology has changed over the years to change that area. For example, gaming has changed drastically with the addition of the Internet, better graphics, augmented reality, and virtual reality.Please email me with any questions as soon as you have them!
