Journal #2- COVID and the world
In this journal, you will write an essay (minimum 450 words in total, see below for suggested word count for each section, 12 point font, double-spaced, excluding references) about COVID. Your writing should answer the following questions,
1. (150 words) In your opinion, how has COVID challenged the social norm you are used to? Only write and talk about ONE social norm that has been challenged. What did the social norm look like pre-COVID? What does it look like now? Please relate to the definition of "norm" from the textbook.
2. (150 words) Do your research, and look for how the "social norm" you talked about above is displayed in a different place. This different place could be a different neighborhood, city, state, or country, other than your own. For example, if you are talking about mask mandate in America, maybe you want to look for how mask policy is handled in Australia. Most likely, because you will rely on internet for your search, make sure you cite the resources using ASA format.
3. (150 words) Use your critical thinking, and compare the above two. How these different social norms reflect the values of these two places?
Keep in mind that the word counts of each section is only a suggestion. Just want to make sure that you have a balance of words for all three sections.
