Annotate "Shitty First Drafts" here
Annotate "Shitty First Drafts." For this, I would like to see discussion about writing, issues that writers have, issues that you might face as a writer, etc. I have observed that this piece resonates with many people when they think about how they go about writing.
Annotations are margin notes and can include: reactions, questions, connections, predictions, definitions, summary, or clarifications. For this exercise you can do any of the following:
- Make observations
- Ask questions
- Answer questions
- Look up and define words (sometimes called "glossing")
- Give possible interpretations to passages or sentences.
You should make 5 annotations. Try not to do all of the same things. Don't just ask questions, also attempt to answer your classmates' questions. Respond to annotations.
To annotate, highlight the section or word you are annotating and then type your comments in the text box. Your name will be attached to the comment. You should have a google account for this (it is free to open).
